Celtic: Brendan Rodgers resigns as interim manager named in shock Celtic Park return
Brendan Rodgers has resigned as Celtic manager with former boss Martin O'Neill and Shaun Maloney being put in temporary charge at Parkhead. Rodgers' second spell at Celtic ended after Sunday's 3-1 William Hill Premiership defeat at Hearts left them eight points adrift of the Edinburgh side.
It comes a day after the Scottish champions fell to a 3-1 defeat at Hearts, opening up an eight-point gap at the top of the league.
Mick Brown believes Brendan Rodgers is unlikely to consider becoming Wolves manager following his surprise exit from Celtic.
Manager Brendan Rodgers is facing the "biggest challenge of his Celtic career", says former midfielder Scott Allan. Defeat at Tynecastle on Sunday means Rodgers' side are now eight points behind Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts after nine matches.
