Nnadi signed with New York in March as one of the NFL 's most durable players at the position. He played in all 17 regular-season games each of the past four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and missed just one game over his entire seven-year tenure with the franchise previously.

Derrick Nnadi is heading back to the Kansas City Chiefs after a brief stint with the New York Jets. The Chiefs agreed to re-acquire the defensive tackle on Sunday with each team also trading conditional sixth- and seventh-round picks in the 2027 draft.

Nnadi spent the first seven years of his career with the Chiefs before signing with the Jets this offseason. But he became expendable when the Jets added two veteran defensive tackles via trade last week. They acquired Harrison Phillips and a 2027 seventh-round pick from the Vikings in exchange for a 2026 sixth-rounder and 2027 sixth-rounder.
