Detroit Lions rookie edge rusher Ahmed Hassanein's status for the season may be in question after he sustained a pectoral injury in Saturday's preseason loss.

Rookie defensive end Ahmed Hassanein is out indefinitely with a pectoral injury he suffered in last week's preseason loss to the Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions coach said Dan Campbell said it's not clear yet if Hassanein has a chance to return this season.

However, later that evening, Hassanein himself went to Instagram with a more optimistic update. In a reel with a lengthy caption, Hassanein revealed that his injury will not require surgery.
