San Francisco Giants pitcher Landen Roupp was placed on the 15-day injured list with left knee inflammation Friday after he was hit by a batted ball and carted off the field in his most recent start.

The San Francisco Giants' fading playoff hopes took a further blow Friday when right-hander Landen Roupp landed on the 15-day injured list with left knee inflammation.

Padres center fielder Ramon Laureano struck Roupp directly in the knee with a line drive Wednesday night, sending the San Francisco hurler to the ground clutching his left knee. After some anxious time spent on the Petco Park grass, Roupp was removed from the premises on a cart.
