The OKC Thunder acquired Daniel Theis and a 2031 second-round pick from the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for cash considerations on Wednesday.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have made a reported trade to bolster their frontcourt. Per ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Pelicans are shipping veteran center Daniel Theis and draft compensation to Oklahoma City. Per Will Guillory of The Athletic, the Pelicans will send a 2031 second-round pick to the Thunder.

The Pelicans are in the midst of another lost season as they sit 12-38 with the second-worst record in the Western Conference. They lost guard Dejounte Murray to a torn Achilles tendon on Friday which was just the latest in a long line of bad injury luck.
