An active shooter was reported on or near the campus of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, the university’s public safety department said this afternoon.

Two people were in custody after the shooting at Australia’s best-known beach during a Jewish event. The authorities advised people nearby to take shelter.

"I have been briefed on the shooting that took place at Brown University in Rhode Island. The FBI is on the scene. The suspect is in custody. God bless the victims and the families of the victims!" Trump wrote at 5:44 p.m. on Truth Social.
