Airbus agreed to acquire some Spirit AeroSystems facilities that make parts for its jets, moving to take direct control of production in a bid to stabilize supply chains after months of disruption.The companies said Monday that they had entered into a definitive deal for Airbus to take over several of Spirit’s plants in the U.

Airbus has finalised a deal to take over part of the Spirit AeroSystems operation in Belfast. The deal was first announced in July last year as part of a wider break up of the Spirit business. The transaction also includes Airbus work packages at the Spirit factory at Prestwick in Scotland.

SPR] announced that Spirit has entered into a definitive agreement with Airbus SE to transfer ownership of certain assets and sites involved in the production of Airbus aerostructures to Airbus. The divestiture of these assets is expected to close concurrently with Spirit's previously announced acquisition by The Boeing Company.
