If you renewed your license during the first year of the pandemic, and self-certified your vision, you need to submit a vision test or risk losing your license.

 Starting October 1, drivers in South Carolina who wish to renew their driver’s license will now have to take a vision test in order to do so.

Beginning Oct. 1, South Carolina drivers will have to undergo eyesight screenings for license renewals. Eye doctors helped create the tests to be administered.

Drivers renewing their licenses will have to undergo vision screenings, a requirement passed by the Kentucky General Assembly in 2021.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - In less than a month, Kentucky drivers will be required to pass an eye exam when they renew their driver’s license.

The agency is now requiring drivers to either have their vision exam results submitted electronically or take a vision exam in person at an SCDMV branch.
