PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Protesters formed a human blockade outside of the Philadelphia ICE office in Center City on Tuesday. Organizers from No ICE Philly say they're attempting block vehicles from leaving the facility. No ICE Philly is made up of faith and community leaders who say they want to protect neighbors from ICE actions in the city.

Chants of "no more ICE" and "stop the raids" echoed as immigrant advocates, faith leaders, lawmakers and community organizations gathered at Market and 9th streets in front of the federal building that houses Philadelphia's Immigration Court.

Philadelphia officials plan to reopen the Center City Greyhound bus terminal by May 1, in time for crowds headed to festivities celebrating America's 250th birthday, Mayor Cherelle Parker said.

More than 120 restaurants across Philadelphia’s downtown area will offer discounted, prix-fixe menus during the annual winter dining promotion.

Work begins on the block between Spruce and Pine streets, in front of the Kimmel Center. The estimated cost is $15 million, supported by a $1 million maintenance endowment. Funders include the City of Philadelphia, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and private donors including several Avenue of the Arts, Inc. board members.

The three-day event runs Jan. 23-25 at the Convention Center with tattoo artists, live performances and vendor showcases.
