WINNIPEG — Kyle Connor extended his goal streak to four games and also had an assist for the Winnipeg Jets in a 4-1 win against the Buffalo Sabres at Canada Life Centre on Friday.

The Sabres have scored just three goals in losing the first two games on their six-game road trip. Their NHL-worst road record has dropped to 2-8-2.

A poor pass by Vlad Namestnikov leads to a Dylan DeMelo penalty and the Jets get burnt on the subsequent power play which put them down 1-0 early. And seconds later poor structure gives the Sabres an odd man rush which put Winnipeg down 2-0 just 15 seconds after taking the lead. That’s not an ideal start by the visitors.

WINNIPEG, Manitoba – Friday’s game at Canada Life Centre was a story of quantity versus quality, in terms of offensive chances. The Buffalo Sabres got the former but surrendered the latter, outshooting the Winnipeg Jets 35-23 in a 4-1 loss.
