DUBAI: Israeli warplanes bombed a power station and two ports in Houthi-controlled Yemen on Friday in retaliation for Houthi drone and missile strikes against Israel, and pro-Houthi media said at least one person had been killed and nine wounded.

Tens of thousands of Yemenis joined a demonstration in Sanaa to show solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, where smoke could be seen from Israeli strikes against Houthi rebel targets. Israel’s military says it carried out new airstrikes in Yemen against what it said were Houthi rebel targets. Its statement Friday said fighter jets struck “on the western coast and inland Yemen,” a day after the Houthis launched three drones at Israel.
