Traffic on Interstate 35W was backed up for several miles Monday after two crashes closed several lanes of the highway, officials said.

Immigration operations were taking place all over the country less than a week after President Trump was sworn in.

Showers and storms will arrive in North Texas late Saturday, Jan. 25. According to data from Zillow, average rents in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro now outpace those in Austin for the first time since at least 2015.

Along with the warmer weather, North Texans can expect rain returning to the forecast this weekend. There’s a 50% chance of showers and storms late Saturday, Jan. 25, followed by a 40% chance on Sunday, Jan. 26, according to the NWS. Low rain chances (20%) will continue early next week on Monday, Jan. 27, and Tuesday.

A Fort Worth, Texas substitute teacher has been removed from the classroom after urging ICE on social media to raid Northside High School, claiming many students “don’t even speak English.” The school district launched an investigation and reassured parents of swift action.

One person died after the truck they were driving crashed into a wall on Sunday, Jan. 26 in north Fort Worth, police said. The crash occurred around 1:39 p.m. at 5500 North Freeway.. The driver of the truck was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.
