The NHL trade deadline is Friday at 3 p.m. ET, and the Toronto Maple Leafs could make a move to improve their roster very soon. However, general manager Brad Treliving has made it clear it may not be the "sexy headline-grabbing move" fans would like to see.
On Tuesday, Dreger appeared on TSN's "Insider Trading" segment and confirmed that Toronto's general manager Brad Treliving is “most definitely interested” in acquiring the veteran forward with less than two weeks before the March 7 deadline.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are expected to add another forward by the trade deadline, but it remains unknown who that could be.
Toronto Maple Leafs coach Craig Berube was in charge of the 2019 Stanley Cup-winning St. Louis Blues on an interim basis in the 2018-19 season, with Brayden Schenn on the roster.
