Hurricane Melissa, one of the strongest storms to ever form in the Caribbean, is due to hit Bermuda tonight or early tomorrow after causing devastation in Jamaica and Cuba.

Hurricane Melissa, which struck Jamaica as one of the most powerful storms ever recorded, was made four times more likely because of human-caused climate change, a rapid analysis said Wednesday.

Nearly 15,000 people were in shelters in Jamaica and some 540,000 customers, or 77%, were without power, officials said.
