A federal judge allowed for the release of Columbia University student Mohsen Mahdawi on Wednesday after being detained for nearly two weeks following his arrest by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.

Columbia University student Mohsen Mahdawi has finally been released from U.S. immigration custody after he was detained for expressing his support for Palestine. Mahdawi, a permanent U.S. resident, was detained in April when he went to his citizenship interview in Vermont,

Mohsen Mahdawi had been an organizer of pro-Palestinian protests at the university. The Trump administration is trying to deport him for it.
