ST. GEORGE, Staten Island -- At Enoteca Maria grandmas run the kitchen. More than 30 grandmas, or nonnas, cook the cuisines of their ancestors.

Hidden behind a bit of scaffolding stands Enoteca Maria, a restaurant like no other. The owner, Jody Scaravella, had a unique idea when he opened the restaurant in 2006.
