Hawaiian Volcano Observatory scientists said episode 35 of the ongoing Halemaumau eruption ended abruptly today at 3:32 a.m. after 7.5 hours of continuous lava fountaining. The south vent stopped erupting at about 3:29 a.m. followed by the north vent at 3:32 a.m., they said.
