A former Michigan State quarterback has received an honor from the Manning Award, being named to it's 2025 watch list

Manning Award this week ahead of the upcoming college football season. The Manning Award is presented annually by the Allstate Sugar Bowl, the Manning family, and a panel of national media members to the top quarterback in college football and is the only quarterback award that takes postseason stats into account.

Texas Tech has been well represented on award watch lists this preseason, and one of the most prominent names on these lists is Behren Morton. The Red Raiders quarterback has now found himself on four preseason watch lists after he was named to the Manning Award watch list on Thursday.

Former Georgia Bulldog Gunner Stockton was not one of the 27 quarterbacks featured on the preseason Manning Award watch list.

Texas quarterback Arch Manning has not been named to the 2025 Manning Award preseason watch list, which is given to the top collegiate quarterback in the country.

Klubnik enters the 2025 season as one of the top quarterbacks in all of college football and a candidate for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Manning Award Watch List is also his latest preseason accolade after being named to the Maxwell Award, Walter Camp Player of the Year, Davey O'Brien Award watch lists.

The Allstate Sugar Bowl announced today that quarterback Cade Klubnik has been named as one of 27 members on the 2025 watch list for the Manning Award Award, presented annually to the nation’s top quarterback after the postseason.

Elsewhere in recruiting for Texas, the Longhorns are hot on the trail of four-star tight end Brock Williams. However, while Williams seems to be favoring the Georgia Bulldogs, Texas was named the biggest threat to the SEC program in his recruitment.
