The WBZ NEXT Weather team has been tracking three storms that potentially could have hit and impacted Massachusetts and the Boston area this week. That is now basically down to two.Storm #1 is going to essentially be a miss to our south.

Don’t put your shovels away after digging out Sunday morning – more snow is anticipated to be on the way in Massachusetts in the days ahead.

According to Meteorologist Shiri Spear’s latest weather blog post, the storm looks like it will move in between about 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Saturday night, with the heaviest snow falling from midnight through 7 a.m. on Sunday.

Parking bans and snow emergencies are being announced for a winter storm that's expected to bring as much as 8 inches of snow to most of Massachusetts late Saturday into early Sunday.

Snow is expected to stop in Worcester and the western part of the state before 9 a.m., gradually moving out of eastern Massachusetts by noon. Essex, Suffolk and Middlesex counties in the northeast part of the state may see snow showers through 5 p.m. on Sunday.

The weekend storm brought a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain to western Massachusetts, with some areas seeing up to six inches of snow by Sunday afternoon.

The snow will arrive Saturday between 10 p.m. and midnight. Once it arrives, it will hit the ground running. The majority of the snow accumulation will occur between midnight and 7 a.m. on Sunday. There will be some light snow and flurries between 7 a.m. and noon but very little additional accumulation.
