Military and Middle East experts say a new Gaza rebuilding plan focused on creating secure enclaves, restoring stability, and cutting off Hamas terrorists could succeed in the long term.

Vice President J.D. Vance arrived in Israel to reinforce the fragile Gaza ceasefire after weekend violence tested the agreement.

Israel as part of the ceasefire were buried at a mass grave site in the Palestinian enclave on Wednesday after health officials were unable to identify the remains.

President Donald Trump on Monday fast-tracked his administration's efforts to secure peace in Gaza, rolling out a detailed vision for a U.S.-backed ceasefire that the White House says will bring the war to an immediate end. He said Israel has accepted the proposal but the success of the plan still hinges on the cooperation of Hamas.

Israeli officials say Trump's 20-point Gaza plan gives Israel tools to prevent future threats while establishing international oversight under the Board of Peace.
