A federal judge has blocked the Trump administration from enforcing its anti-trans prison policy against three transgender women currently housed in women’s facilities at federal prisons.

A federal judge agreed Tuesday to temporarily block prison officials from transferring three incarcerated transgender women to men’s facilities and terminating their access to hormone therapy under an executive order signed by President Donald Trump.

A judge on Tuesday temporarily blocked President Trump’s executive order mandating that transgender women in federal prison be housed in male facilities and the government stop funding their gender-affirming care.

Transgender young adults and families with transgender youth have sued against an executive order from the Trump administration that restricts gender-affirming care.

The action follows a Trump administration order seeking to halt federal support of gender transition care for those under 19.

In a lawsuit filed against the Trump administration in Maryland federal court, the families, who are represented by Lambda Legal and the American Civil Liberties Union, allege that the order discriminates against transgender people and goes beyond Trump's authority as president.

Denver Health, Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and VCU are some of the hospitals who said they're suspending or reviewing care.

New York Attorney General Letitia James is telling hospitals that they would be violating state law if they stop offering gender-affirming care for people under age 19 in response to an executive orde
