12PM UPDATE | HURRICANE MELISSA A Hurricane Warning is in effect for Bermuda. As of the 12 p.m. advisory, Hurricane Melissa (Category 2) is expected to pass approximately 112 nautical miles northwest of the island around 1 a.m. Friday, October 31. Conditions will deteriorate rapidly this afternoon, with tropical storm-force winds developing by evening and hurricane-strength winds overnight, producing gusts up to 90 knots (over 100 mph)—particularly in exposed and elevated areas. Hazardous condit
