On this date in 1979, OMD released the single ELECTRICITY on the Dindisc label, a re-recording of the version first released on Factory (FAC 6), (Sep 28, 1979). A first edition of the Dindisc version, issued in September 1979, had both tracks produced by Martin Hannett (under the name Martin Zero). A second edition issued in April, 1980, saw both tracks replaced by versions produced by Chester Valentino (an alias of band manager Paul Collister) and OMD. Typical of their early work, the song had
