🏁🎂On July 26, 1950 sprint car and midget car racing legend Rich Vogler was born in Chicago, Illinois. His 134 wins (95 Midget, 35 Sprint, and 4 Silver Crown wins) in national events is 2nd only to A.J. Foyt's 169. Vogler had 170 total USAC wins, and won over 200 "outlaw" (non-USAC) midget races. He also competed in the Indianapolis 500 five times. Vogler died in a crash just days before his 40th Birthday on July 21, 1990 at Salem Speedway in Salem, Indiana.
