In 1988, Malaysian music teacher Tan Hooi Song and cultural activist Tan Chai Puan created an innovative drumming art form based on traditional Chinese percussion – the 24 Festive Drums. Combining rhythm, choreography, and formation changes, the performance creates a powerful visual and auditory impact.
