the legendary city of Atlantis, a massive city-ship built by the advanced race known as the Ancients (or Lanteans) in the Stargate universe, central to both Stargate SG-1 and the spin-off Stargate Atlantis. In SG-1, the search for this Lost City, holding powerful Ancient technology, led to the discovery of an Antarctic outpost and ultimately to Atlantis itself in the Pegasus Galaxy, which was then submerged to hide it from the Wraith, setting up the Atlantis series. #stargate #stargatesg1 #scifi
